In the episode, I Am Not Alone, Jemmy has lice and Brianna cuts his hair off to get rid of these lice. Jemmy, now with shorn hair has a nevus on the side of his head. Brianna has never seen one before and Roger explains it’s not harmful and isn’t something that appears before two years of age. He should know, he has one, they are hereditary. To Brianna and Roger this means Jemmy is biologically Roger’s child. It is a good indication if his fairness is not.

Remember all those “live” viewer ratings we shared? Well, as suspected they meant very little in the grand scheme of things. I wondered and my suspicions were confirmed. Matt took to Twitter before the finale to thank fans for making Season 5 the most watched season of Outlander. Wow. We are an impressive bunch.
Outlander holds nothing back and in the season five finale they really brought their ‘A’ game when showing Claire’s disassociation while being brutalized and raped. Claire escapes inside her mind and conjures everything that would bring her comfort. In doing so Outlander gave us a dazzling array of Easter Eggs. Here are the ones I caught:
The episode was written linearly, but the scenes were rearranged in post-production to have Claire flash back to the past and the dream-scape.
Claire struggles to survive brutal treatment from her captors, as Jamie gathers a group of loyal men to help him rescue his wife. Roger and Brianna’s journey takes a surprising turn.
Love the opening title card showing Claire right before she finds Jamie and the print shop. This is a moment from the book so it was fun to see.
The book given to Ulysses is Pamela which is another nod to the books as it is one Jamie talks to Lord John about at Ardsmuir Prison.
A revelation about Jemmy forces Roger and Brianna to choose between staying in the eighteenth century and returning to the safety of the future. Jamie finds that unrest in the back country has given rise to a new power.
To make it feel like the tide was coming in on Bonnet, poles of varying heights; however, the water was shallow enough for Ed Speleers to stand up in.
Jamie and Roger implement their plan to eliminate the threat looming over them, but it goes awry. Brianna is forced to confront her greatest fear and fight for her and her son’s lives.
When Jamie is bitten by a venomous snake, Claire fears she may not have the resources to save him. Jamie asks Roger to complete an important task in the event of his death.
