‘Outlander’ Star Mark Lewis Jones on His Surprising Episode 4 Return & Moment With Claire

Outlander‘s latest installment has sent Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) north to Fort Ticonderoga, as they join the rebels on the American Revolutionary War front — but not before a shocking reunion took place in Wilmington.

Intending to travel to Scotland, the Frasers find themselves changing course, particularly Jamie who is conscripted into the fight. Fresh off of losing their home at Fraser’s Ridge to a fire, they’re still coming to terms with the situation and this shift in their plans. While completing errands around town though, Claire bumps into none other than Tom Christie (Mark Lewis Jones), who she assumed was dead; he took the fall for Malva’s (Jessica Reynolds) murder in the first episode, allowing Claire to be released from prison.

What’s more startling is that Tom doesn’t utter a word but plants a kiss on an unsuspecting Claire. “It was very funny to do ’cause we get a flash of old Tom,” Jones says. “I think when he kisses her and kind of catches himself, he’s almost more shocked and surprised than she is. And so you kind of get a flash of the pious, uptight, broomstick-up-his-behind Tom, you know?”

Outlander is going to war in season 7: ‘This season is so epic’

War! What is it good for? Storytelling on Outlander, it seems.

After several seasons dotted with the embers of rebellion, the American Revolution has at last erupted into a raging fire, rapidly approaching the Frasers’ doorstep. The hit Starz series plunges the Fraser clan and viewers into war for their seventh season, supersized at 16 episodes.

Premiering June 16, season 7 will be divided into two parts, with the back-half of the episodes not airing until 2024. This follows an abbreviated season 6, which clocked in at eight episodes and left Claire (Caitriona Balfe) on her way to prison for the murder of Malva Christie (Jessica Reynolds).

Outlander Season 7 starts June 16!

It’s official. Season 7 in going to premiere on June 16 (US). Which, indecently, is a Friday. Guess Outlander moved again.

Season 7 will consist of 16 episodes (much like Season 1). This is because we didn’t get the full season 6 due to covid and Cait’s pregnancy (congratulations!). All understandable and so Outlander is making it up to the fans with the extra 4 episodes. However, it is going to be split just like Season 1 with the second half coming in 2024.

I am grateful because covering the season is a good bit of work. On the fan viewer side I’m bummed because I just want to watch everything now. Either way I’m so grateful.

Check out the images from Season 7.

  • Post category:Newsspin-off

Somehow I missed this so I’m going to report on it now. I guess that means when Outlander ends, I’ll be covering Blood of My Blood.

At the end of one era and the beginning of another, STARZ announced that the prequel to its popular drama series Outlander had been greenlit, just after the renewal announcement for season eight, which will also be the show’s final season. Although fans of the show are in sorrow over the final season announcement, the fantasy drama series will return for Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which will follow the lives of Jamie Fraser’s parents, Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie.

Stand-Alone Outlander/Lord John Novella: A Fugitive Green

A Fugitive Green is coming to ebook readers July 26, 2022.

In which, a 17-year-old apprentice dealer in rare books is sent from Paris to England by her father, to obtain incunabula and medieval books of devotion – and whatever secrets of political intrigue or finance may come to hand in the process. In the course of her business, though, Minnie meets Harold Grey (Lord John’s elder brother), the newly-widowed (and alarmingly deranged) Duke of Pardloe, and things fall out.

Outlander Season 7: What to expect – NO SPOILERS

Obviously, we are expecting to find out what happens to Claire but what else? It was such a disappointment to find out that season six wouldn’t be twelve episodes (just 8) but with COVID, Cait’s pregnancy, and a strike in the UK; what could they do? Thankfully, Starz is going to make it up to us by adding those missing four episodes to the season seven line up. Yep, season seven will be sixteen episodes long. That’s like season one in all it’s glory. I mean the idea is magnificent but how long will we be in droughtlander for that? No idea. But we will wait because we soooo want more.

Sophie Skelton Was Once ‘Embarrassed’ About Being a Ballerina—Here’s Why She’s ‘Grateful’ For It Now

or Outlander fans who have come to know Sophie Skelton in her role as Brianna Fraser over the years, it’s probably easier to envision her chopping wood on Fraser’s Ridge versus standing up on a pair of pointe shoes—but we live for duality, and Skelton, of course, is more than capable of both.
