Ship cats were integral members of a ship’s crew in the 18th century, helping to control rodents and vermin that may have sneaked aboard prior to departure. Did you catch the cat on board?

FUN FACT: At one point, Washington wanted the army to be uniformed and thought he could clothe them in hunting shirts. That proved not possible due to a shortage of fabrics; Britain was blockading the ports and textiles couldn’t get in or out.
320 new military uniforms with more than 15,000 buttons. Over 200,000 yards of thread in dozens of colors used to make costumes. Over 2,600 pairs of shoes and boots in stock to use on Supporting Artists. On average, 50 workers per day in the costumes department – 65 on busy days! And 400-450 wigs.
When I first saw the dam it really reminded me of the Empire base from Star Wars: Andor. So much so I had to go look it up. Turns out it wasn’t Loch Errochty Dam but instead the Cruachan Dam which seems to look very similar.
Take a look behind the scenes at the burning of the big house to the chest that Jamie and Claire left for Jemmy.
Outlander medical advisor recommended matcha blue tea which is organic; and very, very gentle; as the blue tint for baby Mandy’s nails.
“Brianna had quite a few new looks this season… she’s working domestically and looking after the children but also doing engineering works around the Ridge… so she has some practical clothing but she is also young and, in her past life, liked clothes. I think she has become somebody who has her things made or she makes some things herself.” -Costume Designer Trisha Biggar
“Trisha Biggar does an incredible job and I, for one, am incredibly grateful to her, especially this season. The costumes we have for Claire at the Ridge when she’s more relaxed… it’s a slightly modern twist on what women were wearing at the time, which I always feel is so important… that Claire would always find a way of retaining some of that comfort, some of that ease, some of the practicality from the future while also being able to kind of blend in.
As Jamie became more established on the Ridge, his Season 6 look reflected that. “The Frasers are leaving the Ridge slightly more often than they did in Season 5 so we developed slightly different looks for them. They’re not always at the Ridge working and doing domestic things. They are meeting society and having to do business with people nearby.” -Trisha Biggar, Costume Designer
See the priest hole in the main foyer of the house was amazing. It seems totally something Jamie would think of considering he grew up in a house with a priest hole. I hope we see it used in the future.
So Arch Bug is criticizing Roger’s skill and yet clearly he has some as he’s added onto their cabin. On his own? Likely no but I challenge most anyone out there to have that skill. Arch…. don’t disrespect Roger Mac.
I wish we’d seen more about Jamie’s reaction to Claire’s hair. Cait says shallow but I’ve always loved that Jamie loves her hair especially because in the books it is clear Claire doesn’t love her own hair.
Caitriona wore three different wigs over the course of filming this episode, which conveyed the passage of time before and after her hair was chopped off by Mrs. Bug and Malva.
I’m a little disappointed we haven’t gotten to see Mrs. Bug more especially since, I believe, she’s going to come up (or is supposed to) later.
