See the priest hole in the main foyer of the house was amazing. It seems totally something Jamie would think of considering he grew up in a house with a priest hole. I hope we see it used in the future.

I can’t say I’m happy about the ending. We had a good chunk of the book left and what a horrible cliffhanger. Overall the season was pretty good but as I didn’t enjoy this Brown’s taking Claire story line in the book… well I don’t love it in the show either.

So Arch Bug is criticizing Roger’s skill and yet clearly he has some as he’s added onto their cabin. On his own? Likely no but I challenge most anyone out there to have that skill. Arch…. don’t disrespect Roger Mac.
(more…)Claire struggles with her demons as a nefarious rumor begins to spread on the Ridge. Tensions rise as the residents fear there is a dangerous person in their midst.

Not the best episode of this season ratings wise but I’m going to assume people who normally do the live viewer thing either watched the early midnight release or an encore performance because from the hype it doesn’t seem like anyone missed this episode.

https://youtu.be/68NNrb2dZx0 I wish we’d seen more about Jamie’s reaction to Claire’s hair. Cait says shallow but I’ve always loved that Jamie loves her hair especially because in the books it is clear Claire doesn’t love her own hair.

Caitriona wore three different wigs over the course of filming this episode, which conveyed the passage of time before and after her hair was chopped off by Mrs. Bug and Malva.
I’m a little disappointed we haven’t gotten to see Mrs. Bug more especially since, I believe, she’s going to come up (or is supposed to) later.
(more…)A dysentery epidemic spreads on the Ridge, and Claire falls deathly ill. She is almost recovered when the Christies arrive and drop a bombshell. As nefarious rumors spread like wildfire on the Ridge, tragedy strikes.

Wilmington is one of the largest Outlander sets. It was extended to include The Red Falcon Inn!
(more…)My honest first reaction to this episode is it was really good and boy is it opening up a lot of interesting story-lines. There were some interesting changes and additions. Additions aren’t always bad when they are implied in the book or even talked about. Sometimes those little side notes in a book are fun to see on the screen.

While visiting the Cherokee, Ian encounters a man from his past who dredges up painful memories of his time with the Mohawk. Jamie meets an Indian Agent who challenges his convictions, causing him to re-evaluate.

Did Set Decorations and Greens really dig out and build canoes? Isn’t that going above and beyond?

I love when we learned how they reuse props even if they are from a different time and place in the Outlander world. I’d love to see how Jamie and Claire repurpose things because you know back then it was a must.

Temperance was great. Fergus (Cesar) and Roger (Rik) really shined in this episode. Here are some images from the episode.
