‘Outlander’: Caitriona Balfe & Sam Heughan on ‘Western Feel’ of Season 6 Finale

[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for Season 6, Episode 8 of Outlander, “I Am Not Alone.”]

Outlander‘s sixth season has come to a close and true to the show’s high-stakes storylines, the finale concluded on a cliffhanger that is sure to leave viewers hungry for more.

It was truly Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) against the world as Richard Brown (Chris Larkin) and his committee of safety surrounded Fraser’s Ridge, calling for the arrest of Claire for Malva Christie’s (Jessica Reynolds) murder. Determined to keep in place, the couple became engaged in a shootout as they refused to comply.

Live Viewer Ratings for 607 Sticks and Stones

Not the best episode of this season ratings wise but I’m going to assume people who normally do the live viewer thing either watched the early midnight release or an encore performance because from the hype it doesn’t seem like anyone missed this episode.

Below find the episodes in order of their rating. I think this is the norm now for live viewership versus the streaming. Again, I wish we could see those numbers.

Sophie Skelton Was Once ‘Embarrassed’ About Being a Ballerina—Here’s Why She’s ‘Grateful’ For It Now

or Outlander fans who have come to know Sophie Skelton in her role as Brianna Fraser over the years, it’s probably easier to envision her chopping wood on Fraser’s Ridge versus standing up on a pair of pointe shoes—but we live for duality, and Skelton, of course, is more than capable of both.

BTS: 606 The World Turned Upside Down

Caitriona wore three different wigs over the course of filming this episode, which conveyed the passage of time before and after her hair was chopped off by Mrs. Bug and Malva.

I’m a little disappointed we haven’t gotten to see Mrs. Bug more especially since, I believe, she’s going to come up (or is supposed to) later.

Man in Jail

Who is the man in the jail? He stole one of Flora MacDonald's emeralds from her necklace which suggests he was actually after the stone and not the necklace. As we know, gem stones are needed for steering and protection through the stones. Claire hears him whistling “Colonel Bogey March” which was a song that came about in 1914 but became the anthem of WWII. This proves the man isn't from the 18th century. Source: Give Me Liberty

Outlander Season 7 has begun filming

It’s official. Season 7 has begun filming. I’m thinking that means a much smaller droughtlander. Thank goodness.

I’ve heard fans worrying about Outlander not getting an eighth season but I’m not that concerned. We can’t really reference the live viewer ratings as that is all they are and how many of you stream? Streamers aren’t contributing to that number and we aren’t privy to the streaming numbers.

Outlander Director Breaks Down the Print Shop Riot

Outlander Season 6 has crossed the halfway point in this shortened season. Den Of Geek was unable to visit Jamie and Claire’s living room, but we did have a long chat with Christiana Ebohon-Green to go behind the scenes on episodes 4 and 5, discover more about her directing style, and also what it means to be a Black professional in a predominately white UK media industry.

Recap: 605 Give Me Liberty

My honest first reaction to this episode is it was really good and boy is it opening up a lot of interesting story-lines. There were some interesting changes and additions. Additions aren’t always bad when they are implied in the book or even talked about. Sometimes those little side notes in a book are fun to see on the screen.

David Berry breaks down Lord John’s return and Jamie’s betrayal

Warning: This article contains spoilers about Sunday’s episode of Outlander.

If adopting Jamie’s love child as his own son wasn’t enough, Jamie now wants Lord John to help cover up the fact that he’s decided to throw his lot in with the rebels in the American Revolution. After trying to suss out Jamie’s loyalties (the man is good at playing both sides!), Lord John gets Jamie to admit that he will be attending the Sons of Liberty meeting not as a spy, but as a supporter of the cause.
